I recently had a noisy serial connection testing a driver. The problem turned out to be the delicate connector where the pig tail connects to the card. That is the only complaint I've had. This card has traveled in my computer bag all over the country the last two plus years.
The only issue I've had is the delicate connector.
Good performance at a very reasonable price, (What's this?) Very happy with this product. Adapter works very well with "legacy" software, as well as the latest gear. I had endless problems with USB to Serial adapters, but this Expresscard adapter worked perfectly with both Windows and DOS apps. The documentation on the driver was a little out of date, but it was easy to install.
It is operating very well and providing what I need., (What's this?) The software installation was not difficult to perform on my Vista 64bit laptop. After the software was installed, i then inserted the Expresscard adapter into the slot and it was detected by Vista. I had to locate a terminal/communication program that supported serial com ports greater than com-4. Once i did then find a program the adpater worked great and both serial connections could be operated at the same time.
